Diplomatic relations were established on 5 May 1984.
Brunei Darussalam High Commissioner to Bangladesh is Her Excellency Hajah Masurai binti Haji Masri while Bangladesh's High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam is His Excellency Air Vice Marshal Mahmud Hussain.
The draft Protocol on Cooperation for Bilateral Consultation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries for the establishment of a Joint Committee was established on 9 February 2010.
Brunei Darussalam and Bangladesh signed the following MOUs/Agreements:
