Brunei Darussalam Participation
PYT Magdalene Teo, Brunei Ambassador to People’s Republic of China, Brunei Darussalam Commissioner General for the Shanghai Expo signed participation on 31 March 2009.
Design Concept
Main concept for Brunei Pavilion revolved around by our traditional pattern that reflects Brunei’s culture way of living. The ‘ayer muleh’ pattern symbolizes the continuous harmony between nature, our rich heritage and tradition.
Within the ‘ayer muleh’, pockets of spaces rises in harmony with Brunei progress of development to maintain our economic prosperity. The height of vertical formation reflects the gradual increase in our standard of living. Brunei continues to look forward to achieve our aspiration thus supporting our theme NOW…FOR THE FUTURE.
The overall design concept binds our rich heritage and ambitions while maintaining our way of life.

External Design Concept
One of our exclusive heritage is the preservation of our pristine nature and natural rainforest. For the external concept design, we have shown rainforest as our main front feature at the main entrance. No matter the pace of development in Brunei, our natural environment will be sustained.
Circular features represents the eight strategic plans for the development of Brunei. Rotating structure represents the revolving our way of life within our traditions and also preserving our natural environment.
