Joining MFA is now becoming highly competitive through various process of selection. The emphasis is not just on oral communication and written skills, but also on the need for a well-rounded individual with strong analytical and conceptual abilities.
Once in MFA, the individual is required to show a high level of integrity, competence, efficiency and dedication. He or she must also show the capacity for effective working relations, good planning and organisational abilities.

Joining MFA, you must be prepared to accept the challenge of working overseas. An overseas posting requires people who are flexible, versatile, and resourceful and have a clear understanding of Brunei's interests. You must be able to cope with frequent changes and live in diverse social and cultural environments.
