BRUNEI DARUSSALAM'S STATEMENT
ON DEVELOPMENTS IN THE MIDDLE EAST
Brunei Darussalam welcomes the signing of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and commends the leadership of His Excellency Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America through his “Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict". We reiterate our immense appreciation to the Arab Republic of Egypt, State of Qatar, Republic of Türkiye for their mediation efforts.
Brunei Darussalam urges all parties concerned to abide by and faithfully fulfil their obligations in upholding and implementing the agreement. This must lead to a permanent ceasefire, the mutual release of detainees, the immediate and safe delivery of humanitarian assistance, the protection of the rights of Palestinians in their homeland, and ensure conditions conducive for the reconstruction of Gaza.
Brunei Darussalam reaffirms its steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people and supports the creation of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, on the basis of the two-State solution, based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
