Brunei Darussalam strongly condemns the recent attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including those targeting civilian infrastructure. We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wish the injured a swift and full recovery.
We stand in solidarity with the Government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and support the Kingdom's efforts to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity, protect residents and pilgrims, and preserve the sanctity of the Holy Sites.
Deliberate attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure violate international humanitarian law and may constitute war crimes. When committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against a civilian population, such acts may also constitute crimes against humanity.
We call for an immediate cessation of attacks and urge all parties to exercise maximum restraint, uphold the Charter of the United Nations, international law and international humanitarian law, and pursue dialogue and diplomacy to restore lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that all registered Bruneians in Saudi Arabia are safe and accounted for. Bruneian nationals and permanent residents travelling abroad are encouraged to register through the e-Register platform (https://apps.katalyst.gov.bn/mfa/eregister/form).
