40 YEARS OF DIPLOMACY WITH BOOK LAUNCH

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam today held the launch of the commemorative publication “Bridging Through Diplomacy: Brunei Darussalam's 40 Year Journey" at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas, in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the Ministry's establishment.

The event was officiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also present was The Honourable Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister of Foreign Affairs II.

The ceremony was attended by former Minister of Foreign Affairs II, senior officials from the Ministry, members of the Diplomatic Corps, as well as officials who retired from the Ministry and present officers, reflecting a strong sense of continuity and shared purpose within Brunei Darussalam's diplomatic service.

In his remarks, The Honourable Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister of Foreign Affairs II underscored that the publication serves as a meaningful commemoration of four decades of Brunei Darussalam's diplomatic journey as a sovereign nation. He further emphasised that the book brings together key milestones and achievements, while compiling reflections and experiences from former and serving diplomats, thereby highlighting the principles, values and practices that have guided the country's foreign policy.

The launch ceremony featured the official unveiling of the book, followed by the presentation of the first copy to Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna. The event also included a group photo session with contributors, as well as a book signing session, providing an opportunity for engagement between contributors and attendees.

Copies of the publication were made available for purchase following the launch. Members of the public may purchase the book at a price of BND 40 per copy from the Library Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, located at ICC, Berakas.
