BRUNEI DARUSSALAM'S STATEMENT
ON DEVELOPMENTS IN THE MIDDLE EAST
Brunei Darussalam welcomes the positive developments towards the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
We commend the constructive efforts of the US, the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt and Republic of Türkiye as mediators. It is essential to ensure a conducive environment for a permanent ceasefire, urgent entry of safe and sustained delivery of humanitarian assistance, prevention of displacement of the Palestinian people, and viable conditions for the reconstruction of Gaza.
In this regard, we reaffirm our support towards international efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the Middle East on the basis of international law and the relevant United Nations (UN) resolutions.
Brunei Darussalam reiterates its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinians in their struggle for peace, freedom and inalienable rights to self-determination and reaffirms its full support for the creation of a fully independent and sovereign State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
