I extend my heartfelt congratulations on Your Excellency's appointment as the Prime Minister of Japan following your recent victory in the election of the President of the Liberal Democratic Party.
Japan has been a long-standing partner and we have enjoyed excellent progress in many areas of shared interest. We entered a meaningful chapter in our relations through the Strategic Partnership by venturing into new areas of cooperation for the mutual benefit of our people and countries.
I look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to deepen these important bilateral ties, as well as our close partnership in ASEAN-Japan Dialogue Relations, notably with the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
