I am saddened to learn of the passing of His Excellency Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
I value the personal friendship shared with the late Nguyen Phu Trong and recall fond memories of our exchanges. His unwavering commitment to strengthening the excellent relations between our countries as well as his strong dedication to the socio-economic development of Viet Nam is a lasting legacy.
