I am pleased to send my warmest congratulations to you and the Government and people of the French Republic on the occasion of Bastille Day.
As we commemorate forty years of diplomatic relations between our two countries this year, I reaffirm Brunei Darussalam's commitment to work closely with you to further expand the scope of our bilateral ties and deepen our relations to a strategic partnership.
I also look forward to more opportunities to synergize our efforts particularly in our regional and international work together and as Brunei Darussalam assumes the role of Country Coordinator for the ASEAN-European Union Dialogue Relations.
Taking this opportunity, I would like to convey my best wishes to you and the people of the French Republic for a successful Paris 2024 Olympic Games to be held later this month.
I also wish to reciprocate the warm welcome and hospitality extended to me and my delegation during my visit to France last year, and it would be a pleasure to host you and Mrs. Brigitte Macron in Brunei Darussalam.
