On the occasion of Australia Day, it is with pleasure that I extend my warmest congratulations to you, the Government and people of Australia.
Over the years, Brunei Darussalam and Australia continue to enjoy warm friendship and close ties, underpinned by our excellent cooperation in trade, defence, education and people-to-people exchanges. I am pleased that this relationship was further strengthened through the elevation to a Comprehensive Partnership during my recent State Visit. As we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations this year, I am confident that our partnership will continue to thrive for many more years to come for the mutual benefit of our two countries.
I look forward to the pleasure of working closely together with you in achieving our shared regional objectives, particularly as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Australia relations in Australia this March.
