On the occasion of your 48th National Day, I am pleased to convey my warmest congratulations to you and to the Government and people of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
Over the past three decades, Brunei Darussalam and the Lao People's Democratic Republic have enjoyed warm and longstanding friendship across many fields. The elevation of relations to a Strategic Partnership during my State Visit to your country last October was a remarkable milestone that will enhance our muchvalued ties for many years to come.
I look forward to continuing our work together to further strengthen the close cooperation, both bilaterally as well as during your country's Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2024 under the theme "ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience". I also wish Your Excellency, the Government and people of the Lao People's Democratic Republic all the best in your preparations for a successful Chairmanship.
