It is with much sadness that I learned of the recent passing of Li Keqiang, former Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China,
Former Premier Li was a close friend and I recall with fondness my interactions with him, both in Brunei Darussalam and during our shared engagements in international forums. I also very much appreciated his efforts in deepening the excellent relations between our countries and his steadfast commitment to fostering closer relations under the ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations.
As a great statesman, he will always be remembered under your leadership for his vast dedication in enhancing the people's overall well-being as well as pursuing the prosperity and development of the People's Republic of China.
The Government and people of Brunei Darussalam join me in expressing our most sincere condolences to you and to the Government and people of the People's Republic of China, especially to the bereaved family of the former Premier.
