Brunei Darussalam High Comission in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this evening hosted a function to commemorate Brunei Darussalam 31st National Day Anniversary, at the Grand Ballroom, Grand Hyatt Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
Present as the guest of honour was The Honourouble Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Minister of Communication and Multimedia of Malaysia and was attended by over 500 invited guests from members of diplomatic corp in Kuala Lumpur, prominent people, officials, business community and Bruneian residing in Malaysia. His Excellency Dato Paduka Haji Alaihuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Haji Mohd. Taha, the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and The Honourouble Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek in their opening statement prayed to Allah the Almighty for the good Health of Their Majesties, the success of the governments and prosperity of the people of both countries. This is followed by a cake cutting session.
A mini exhibition to showcase the Brunei local products was also organised during the national day function.
Also present was The Honorouble Datuk Seri Mohd. Shafie Apdal, Minister of Rural and Regional Development.
Brunei National Day falls on 23rd February 2014 and the theme for this year is "Generasi Berwawasan".
