His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this afternoon received in separate audiences Honourable Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana; and Honourable Dr. Vincent Biruta, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda. The Audience Ceremonies took place at Istana Nurul Iman.

Discussions between His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam with the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana; as well as the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda during the separate Audience Ceremonies, among others, focused on further deepening bilateral relations and cooperation in areas of mutual benefit between Brunei Darussalam and the two countries. His Majesty also exchanged views with the Ministers on current developments in the Commonwealth as well as explored ways to advance cooperation through this platform, both bilaterally and regionally.

Accompanying the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana were Ambassador Kwabena Osei-Danquah, Special Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration; and Her Excellency Florence Buerki Akonor, Non-Resident High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to Brunei Darussalam. Meanwhile, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda was accompanied by Mr. Juan Haguma, Principal Officer in the Office of the Minister; and Ms. Ornella Kayitesi, Chargé d’Affaires , High Commission of the Republic of Rwanda in Singapore.

Also present during the Audience Ceremonies was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs.
