24 May 2022 - HIS MAJESTY THE SULTAN AND YANG DI-PERTUAN OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM PRESENTS AND RECEIVES LETTERS OF CREDENCE FOR NEWLY APPOINTED ENVOYS

Istana Nurul Iman, Tuesday, 24th May 2022

 

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this afternoon presented Letters of Credence to newly appointed Brunei Darussalam Envoys and received Letters of Credence from newly appointed Foreign Envoys to Brunei Darussalam.

 

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam first presented Letters of Credence to His Excellency Pengiran Haji Sahari bin Pengiran Haji Salleh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to Thailand; and His Excellency Wan Hadfi Lutfan bin Haji Abdul Latif, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

 

His Majesty then received Letters of Credence from His Excellency Bernard Regnauld-Fabre, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Brunei Darussalam; His Excellency Maeda Toru, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam; Her Excellency Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Philippines to Brunei Darussalam; His Excellency Luke Lazarus Arnold, High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam; Her Excellency Caryn Roberta McClelland, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Brunei Darussalam; Her Excellency Sengdavanh Vongsay, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Brunei Darussalam; and His Excellency Alok Amitabh Dimri, High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Brunei Darussalam.

 

After the ceremonies, His Majesty received in audience the newly appointed Brunei Darussalam Envoys and the newly appointed Foreign Envoys to Brunei Darussalam.

 

Also present at the ceremonies were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Mohd. Nawawi bin Allahyarham Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Haji Awang Mohd. Taha, Private and Confidential Secretary to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam; and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, Grand Chamberlain.

The Audience Ceremonies took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
