His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam today received in audience His Excellency Tran Dai Quang, the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and spouse, Madame Nguyen Thi Hien, who are in the country for a three (3) day State Visit.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri welcomed the arrival of His Excellency the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and spouse at the Istana Nurul Iman. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri then together with His Excellency and his spouse received the Salute of Honour on the dais, which was followed by the national anthems of both countries. Twenty one (21) gun salutes were fired as the two leaders inspected the Guard of Honour mounted by the 1st Battalion of the Royal Brunei Land Forces.

His Excellency Tran Dai Quang and Madame Nguyen Thi Hien were then introduced to the members of the Royal Family; State Dignitaries; Cabinet Ministers; Deputy Ministers; the Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces; the Commissioner of Police; Foreign Envoys in Brunei Darussalam; as well as Permanent Secretaries in the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and their respective spouses.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri were also introduced to members of the delegation of His Excellency the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

The delegation includes His Excellency Dao Viet Trung, Chairman of the President’s Office; His Excellency Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment; His Excellency Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Industry and Trade; His Excellency Phung Xuan Nha, Minister of Education and Training; and Deputy Ministers and Senior Officials from the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

Shortly after, an audience ceremony was held at the Cheradi Laila Kenchana. Also present in the audience ceremony were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, The Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Umi Kalthum Al-Islam, as well as other members of the Royal family.

Also attending the audience ceremony were His Excellency Dao Viet Trung, Chairman of the President’s Office; His Excellency Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment; His Excellency Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Industry and Trade; His Excellency Phung Xuan Nha, Minister of Education and Training; Deputy Ministers from the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and His Excellency Nguyen Truong Giang, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to Brunei Darussalam.

After the Audience Ceremony, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to hold a Bilateral Meeting with His Excellency the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

Also attending the meeting was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, The Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Also present at the meeting were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education as the Minister-in-Attendance; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II and Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister’s Office.

During the meeting, His Majesty and His Excellency the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam discussed bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, as well as exchanged views on regional and international matters of mutual concern.

The Bilateral Meeting was held in the Cheradi Ratna Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman.

His Excellency Tran Dai Quang, the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and spouse, Madame Nguyen Thi Hien with the delegation arrived in Brunei Darussalam yesterday. The arrival of the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and spouse at the Brunei International Airport was welcomed by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education as the Minister-in-Attendance, and Datin.
