TRAVEL INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE

 

Bruneian citizens travelling to the State of Qatar are encouraged to take note of the following:

 

Brunei Darussalam passport holders

 

  • Holders of Brunei Darussalam ordinary passports do not require prior visa arrangements and may obtain a visa waiver upon arrival in Qatar by presenting a valid passport with a minimum validity of at least three (3) months and a confirmed onward or return ticket.
  • The visa waiver will be valid for 30 days from the date of issuance and entitles its holder to stay in Qatar up to 30 days in Qatar , either during a single trip or across multiple trips
  • This waiver may be extended for a further period of thirty (30) days.

 

e-Registration

 

Bruneian citizens are encouraged to register their travel details through e-Register with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam before travelling abroad.

 

Before Travelling

 

  • Ensure that your passport is valid for at least six (6) months from the date of travel.
  • Obtain the appropriate visa in advance if required by the destination country.
  • Familiarise yourself with the laws, regulations, and entry requirements of the destination country.
  • Ensure that you comply with international aviation and customs regulations, including restrictions on prohibited items.
  • Travellers visiting Qatar are recommended to have a valid health insurance policy covering Qatar's medical facilities. Those without insurance may purchase a policy for QAR 50.00 upon arrival.
  • Travellers staying in Qatar for more than thirty (30) days must buy health insurance from an insurance provider registered with the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) of the State of Qatar. Click here [N@NHR3] on the list of MOPH registered insurance company.

 

During Travel

 

  • Keep important documents such as your passport, airline tickets, and other personal valuables in a secure place.
  • Avoid carrying large amounts of cash, jewellery, or other valuables while travelling.
  • Keep copies or records of important documents, including your passport number, for reference in case of loss or theft.
  • If travelling with family members, domestic helpers, or companions, ensure that their travel documents and visas are in order.
  • Always remain vigilant and supervise children in crowded areas such as markets, public gatherings, and transport hubs.

Safety and Legal Awareness

 

  • Respect and comply with the laws and regulations of the host country at all times.
  • Ensure that any individual requesting your identification is properly authorised.
  • Do not surrender or leave your passport or identification documents with any individual or organisation unless required by the relevant authorities.
  • Upon arrival in your destination country, declare large sums of money if required by local regulations to avoid legal complications.
