Passport Renewal

Brunei Citizens are advised to renew their passports six (6) months before its expiry date. Requirements for passport renewal are as follows: 
  • Complete passport renewal form
  • 4 recent passport photographs
  • Copy of Brunei ID
  • Copy of passport
  • Payment of USD 55
  • Pre-paid self-addressed envelope

​Lost Passports

Lost passports must be reported to the Embassy as soon as possible. To replace a lost passport, the requirements are as above with some additional documents as follows:

  • Copy of Police report
  • BND 150 surcharge (Please contact the Embassy for the equivalent USD rate)
  • A formal letter explaining how and when the passport was lost

Emergency Passports

Those who have lost their passport and need to travel back to Brunei should contact the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam to process their emergency certificate. This certificate is a one-way travel document.

  • Complete Emergency passport form
  • Copy of Brunei Passport (if applicable);
  • Copy of Police Report;
  • Copy of Brunei Identity Card (both sides) or Identification Certificate;
  • Copy of applicant's Birth Certificate (both sides);
  • Letter of certification from present school/college/university (if studying) or employer (if working)
  • Two (2) passport-size photos
  • fee of USD 18
  • Flight Itinerary

Application To Register The Birth Of A Child Born Outside Brunei Whose Father Is A Citizen Of Brunei




Please note that citizenship will only be granted to a child whose mother is a citizen of Brunei Darussalam only once the child has reached the age of 2 years and only when the child is residing in Brunei Darussalam.


Request For A Certificate Of Good Conduct For A Person That Previously Lived Or Worked In Brunei Darussalam:

Those requiring a Police Certificate of Good Conduct from Brunei Darussalam should submit the following documents to the Embassy and it will take minimum of three (3) months to be issued: 

An explanatory letter addressed to the Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force explaining the reason for requesting the Certificate of Good Conduct, and some background of the applicant's previous stay in Brunei Darussalam;
Supporting documents as a proof of residency in Brunei (Brunei Identification Card / Letter of appointment);
  • Copy of all pages of applicant's current passport;
  • Current mailing address, email and contact number;
  • A self-addressed pre-paid envelope
  • Fee of BND50/USD45 per applicant (Cash, Money Order or Bank check made payable to "The Embassy of Brunei").

Brunei Identity Card Renewal
