THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN

Diplomatic relations were established on 1 May 1990. The Embassy of Brunei Darussalam was set up in Tehran at Charge d'Affaires level in 1993. In 1996, Brunei upgraded its embassy to full Ambassadorial level. Iran first established its embassy in BSB in 1994. The Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Iran is His Excellency Pengiran Abdul Samad Bin Pengiran Metassan. The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Brunei Darussalam is His Excellency Abdolhamid Fekri.

Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Iran signed the following MOUs:

  • MOU between National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brunei Darussalam and Iran Chamber of Commerce and Mines (12th March 1996)
  • MOU on exemption of visa requirements for holders of Diplomatic and Officials Passports (8 April 1995)
  • MOU on Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation (15 October 1994)
