The 4th Brunei Darussalam – China Consultation Meeting on Trade, Investment and Economic Cooperation (COMTIEC) was held on 18 April 2016 at the International Convention Centre, Berakas.
The Meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Dato Paduka Lim Jock Hoi, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalam and H.E. Gao Yan, Vice Minister of Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China.
Both countries exchanged views on the status of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic matters with particular focus on energy, finance, agriculture, fisheries, infrastructure, human resources as well as provincial cooperation.
Both sides also took the opportunity to discuss regional economic cooperation relating to BIMP-EAGA, ASEAN-China and the on-going RCEP negotiations.
The 5th COMTIEC will be hosted by the People's Republic of China.
