His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this afternoon received in audience Senator the Honourable Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia who is on a two-day visit to Brunei Darussalam. 

 

During the Audience Ceremony, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Senator the Honourable Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia discussed on the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Australia. 

 

Accompanying Senator the Honourable Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia was His Excellency Luke Arnold, High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam. 

 

The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman. 

 

The longstanding and close relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Australia was established in May 1984, in which both countries cooperate extensively in the fields of trade and investment, energy, aquaculture and agriculture, and defence.
