BRUNEI DARUSSALAM’S STATEMENT ON THE SITUATION IN UKRAINE

Brunei Darussalam expresses concern over the escalation of tensions and military actions in Ukraine, and continues to closely monitor developments in the country.
Brunei Darussalam condemns any violation of sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of any country, and reiterates the importance of upholding the principles of a rules-based framework and respect for international law.
Brunei Darussalam calls on all parties directly involved to de-escalate tensions and refrain from acts that may aggravate the situation further, and settle all differences by peaceful means, without resorting to the threat or use of force, in accordance with the UN Charter and international law, in the interest of maintaining international peace and stability.
