I and Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of your beloved mother, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. My family as well as the Government and people of Brunei Darussalam joins me in offering our most heartfelt condolences to Your Majesties, members of the Royal Family, and the people of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Throughout her life, Her Majesty has not only devoted herself to the British people but also to the people of the Commonwealth and she will always be remembered for her humanity and warmth as well as for her tireless and lifelong dedication to public service.
For over seven decades, Her Majesty's personal courage and strong leadership as Head of the Commonwealth has been a great source of admiration, inspiration and pride that has encouraged unity among the Commonwealth nations.
We have wonderful memories of Her Majesty the Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh's visit to Brunei Darussalam in 1972 and 1998. I remember fondly my last meeting with Her Majesty during The Queen's Commonwealth Dinner at Buckingham Palace In 2018 and was by her grace and kindness. These meetings reflect the special and long-standing relationship between the United Kingdom and Brunei Darussalam and we truly appreciate Her Majesty's personal contributions to strengthening these important ties.
Her Majesty will be truly missed and our thoughts are with Your Majesties, members of the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland during this time of great loss and bereavement.
