Brunei Darussalam attaches great importance to historical and longstanding ties with the United States of America, and I look forward to continuing our work together in the many important areas of our bilateral and international relations.
My appreciation also to you on the outstanding success of the ASEAN-United States Special Summit held in Washington D.C. in May, which celebrates 45 years of engagement between both sides. I believe we have set the groundwork to expand the relationship to a more strategic and comprehensive partnership for the mutual benefit of our peoples.
