His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this afternoon received in audience His Excellency Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, who is on a two-day visit to Brunei Darussalam to attend the 3rd Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

During the Audience Ceremony, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and His Excellency discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries, including in the fields of education, defence, youth and sports as well as food security.

Accompanying His Excellency were Her Excellency Sengdavanh Vongsay, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to Brunei Darussalam; and His Excellency Viroth Sundara, Director General of the Asia-Pacific and Africa Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Also present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
