His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this afternoon received in audience His Excellency Abdulla Shahid, President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, who is on three-day visit to Brunei Darussalam.
During the Audience Ceremony, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and His Excellency discussed Brunei Darussalam’s role in strengthening multilateralism, as well as His Excellency’s priorities during his Presidency of the United Nations General Assembly.
His Majesty and His Excellency, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, further touched on matters regarding the bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Maldives.
Also present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
His Excellency last visited Brunei Darussalam in March 2020 to discuss strengthening bilateral relations as well as the exploration of new areas of cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries.
