Brunei Darussalam Citizen Online Registration

We would like all citizens of Brunei Darussalam in Switzerland to register with the Permanent Mission of Brunei Darussalam in Geneva, to help us keep in touch with you.

Travelling to Brunei Darussalam

All visitors entering Brunei Darussalam must possess a valid passport or travel document, as well as proof of onward ticket and sufficient funds while in the country.

The passport must have a validity of at least 6 months before expiry when entering Brunei Darussalam.

Visa arrangements and requirements may vary by nationality. The maximum length of validity of the visa is 3 months.

 

Visa Arrangements

Certain countries are exempted from the visa requirements for social, business, or professional visits depending on the number of days. All other nationals entering Brunei Darussalam must obtain visas beforehand through the Mission.

Visa Requirements

Note for all kinds of visa applications:

  • Applicants are advised to submit the required documents to the Mission at least 30 days before travelling to Brunei Darussalam.
  • Completed applications can either be submitted in person or by a representative, or sent by mail.
  • If applications are sent by mail, applicants are required to provide a pre-paid self-addressed envelope or assign a courier to deliver and collect your application.
  • Applicants are solely responsible for the safety of their passports that are sent by mail.
  • The processing time for each application is upto five (5) working days.
  • The validity of each visa is three (3) months.


Social Visit Visa

The following documents are required for the visa application process:

  1. Passport of applicant;
  2. Complete visa application form; (Click here to download)
  3. Copy of travel itinerary;
  4. One (1) recent passport-size photograph;
  5. Payment fee (cash only):       
    • CHF15 for single entry
    • CHF22 for multiple entries (for not more than three (3) months from the date of issue)
    • CHF37 for multiple entries (for more than three (3) months not exceeding one (1) year from the date of issue)

Professional / Business Visit Visa

The following documents are required for the visa application process:

  1. Follow requirement No. 1 – 4 for Social Visit Visa;
  2. Introductory/sponsorship letters of associated companies, business representatives, government agencies or other authority;
  3. Payment fee (cash only) of CHF 15 (Single entry).

Employment / Dependant Visa

The following documents are required for employment visa application process:

  1. Follow requirement No. 1 – 4 for Social Visit Visa;
  2. A valid work permit issued by the Department of Immigration Office and National Registration in Brunei Darussalam;
  3. CHF 15 (single entry).

The following documents are required for a dependent visa (visa issued to spouse and children under eighteen (18) years of age, whose husband is working in Brunei Darussalam) application process:

  1. Follow requirement No. 1 – 4 for Social Visit Visa;
  2. Copy of Dependent Pass from the Immigration Office in Brunei Darussalam;
  3. CHF 15 (single entry).

Passport Renewal

Brunei Citizens are advised to renew their passports six (6) months before the expiry date. The application form can be submitted to the Permanent Mission of Brunei Darussalam with the documents listed in the form:

Emergency Certificate (Sijil Darurat)

Those who have lost their passport in Switzerland should contact the Permanent Mission of Brunei Darussalam to process their emergency certificate. This certificate is a one-way travel document.

Procedures:

  • Fill in and submit the application form with the following documents:Explanatory letter on the reasons for an emergency certificate, addressed to the Director of Immigration and National Registration Department, Brunei Darussalam.
  • Two (2) copies of Brunei Passport (if applicable);
  • Two (2) copies of Police Report
  • Two (2) copies of Brunei Identity Card (both sides) or Identification Certificate (if available);
  • Two (2) copies of applicant's Birth Certificate (both sides);
  • One (1) pre-paid, self-addressed Registered or Express Post Envelopes;
  • Three (3) passport-size photos;
  • Payment fee of CHF15.

A child of a Bruneian citizen born in Switzerland can also apply for an emergency certificate to be used for returning to Brunei. In this case, the application form and documents listed above should also be submitted with the additional documents, such as:

  • Two (2) copies of child birth certificate
  • Two (2) copies of parent's Marriage Certificate;
  • Two (2) copies of parent's Birth Certificates (both sides);
  • Two (2) copies of parent's Identification Certificates;
  • Two (2) copies of parent's Passports;

Registration of Birth

A child born in Switzerland whose father is a citizen of Brunei Darussalam may register with the Mission within a period of six months after the date of birth.
