The Government of His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the Government of Montenegro have decided to establish diplomatic relations with effect from 18 January 2010.

The signing of the Joint Communiqué took place at the Office of the Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations, New York.

The Government of His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was represented by His Excellency Latif bin Tuah, Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations, New York whilst the Government of Montenegro was represented by His Excellency Nebojša Kaludjerović, Permanent Representative of Montenegro.
