THE NATIONAL DAY RECEPTION

 

Doha, Qatar

Haji Ali Hassan bin Hj. Mohd. Salleh, Charge d'Affaires with the Chief Guest, H.E. The Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Doha, Qatar held the 22nd National Day Reception at the Diplomatic Club, Doha, Qatar on 28 February 2006. About 150 guests attended the reception made up of ambassadors, foreign diplomats, and government officials. The Chief Guest representing the Government of Qatar was H.E. Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahim Kafood, Head of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Heritage.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

The Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Brussels, Belgium held the 22nd National Day Reception at the Ambassador's Residence in Belgium on 24 February 2006. About 200 guests attended the reception made up of ambassadors, foreign diplomats, and senior officials from Federal Public Service for Foreign Affairs, External Trade and Development Cooperation of Belgium, officials from European Parliament and European Commission and members of the business community. Also attending the reception were Brunei Darussalam's nationals working with Shell in Netherlands.

Washington, USA

The Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Washing D.C. held a reception on 23 February 2006 at the Chancery commemorate Brunei Darussalam’s 22nd National day.

Geneva, Switzerland

The Permanent Mission of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations and other International Organizations and to the World Trade Organizations (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland held the 22nd National Day Reception on 23 February 2006 at Palace Hilton Hotel in Geneva. Invited guests include Ambassadors, Permanent Representatives, and diplomats, officials from the United Nations Office, International Organizations and WTO and guests from private sectors.

Seoul, Republic of Korea

H.E. Dato Paduka Haji Harun Haji Ismail, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Korea leads the cake-cutting ceremony and joined by the Chief Guest, H.E. Kim Jong-Kap, Vice-Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy, H.E. Alfredo Francisco Ungo, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and ASEAN Ambassadors during the 22nd National Day Reception in Seoul, Korea.
 

The Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Seoul, Korea held the 22nd National Day Reception on 23 February 2006 at Lotte Hotel, Seoul, Korea. About 400 guests attended the reception made up of senior Korean government officials, ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps and prominent figures from private sectors. Representing the Korean Government was His Excellency Kim Jong-Kap, Vice Minister of Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy.

The High Commission of Brunei Darussalam in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia held the 22nd National Day Reception at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara, Kuala Lumpur on 23 February 2006.The Hon. Datuk Seri Syed Hamid bin Syed Jaafar Albar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia dan wife, Datin Sharifah Aziah bte Syed Zainal Abidin attended the reception as the Special Guest representing the Malaysian Government. About 300 guests attended the reception.

Tokyo, Japan

Some 400 guests attended the reception, including Japan’s Minister of Environment, President of the House of Councillors, Members of Parliament, Heads and Members of the foreign diplomatic missions and international organisations in Tokyo, government officials and members of business communities in Japan.

Manila, Philippines

Representing the Government of the Republic of Philippine and as Guest of Honour was H.E. Alberto G. Romulo, Secretary of foreign Affairs. Invited guest include senators, Heads and Members of the foreign diplomatic missions and international organisations in Manila, senior government officials and members of business communities and Brunei nationals in the Philippines.

Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran

The 22nd National Day Reception was held on 23 February 2006, at the Chancery of the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Tehran. Some 300 invited guests attended the reception, including heads and members of the foreign diplomatic missions and international organisations in Tehran, officials from Iranian Foreign Ministry and local prominent figures.
