25 May 2008 - Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, today joined the Foreign Ministers of ASEAN and Representatives of the Member States of the United Nations at the ASEAN-UN International Pledging Conference in Yangon, Myanmar.

The conference was inaugurated by Prime Minister Thein Sein of the Union of Myanmar. The Secretary-General of ASEAN and the Undersecretary-General of UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs briefed the Conference on joint ASEAN-UN efforts on international response to Cyclone Nargis.

During the conference, participants discussed relief and rehabilitation initiatives and announced their respective pledges of assistance to Myanmar. A Co—chairmen statement on behalf of Ministers and Representatives attending the Pledging Conference was issued at the end of the session.
