16 January 2008 - His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, today received His Excellency Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, the Secretary-General of ASEAN at the Balai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan.

His Royal Highness welcomed the Secretary-General and discussed the work of ASEAN and a number of regional and international affairs.

Secretary-General Pitsuwan is a former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand and took up his current position on 7 January 2008. He is based in Jakarta and is in the country to attend the Special Meeting of the ASEAN Directors-General
