3 May 2007 – ASEAN Economic Ministers are gathered here in Brunei Darussalam for their annual Retreat meeting which was held today, during which, Ministers discussed matters relating to the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), as well as ASEAN’s internal economic cooperation and its external economic relations.

Tomorrow the ASEAN Economic Minister will hold consultations with the European Union Trade Commissioner and will have an informal consultation with Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

The AEM Retreat was preceded by a Working Dinner held yesterday evening.
