THE SIGNING CEREMONY OF THE GENERAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM AND THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA

22 May 2006 – The Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed a General Agreement on Economic, Trade, Investment, Technical, Education and Cultural, Youth and Sport Cooperation.

Signing on behalf of the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was The Hon. Pehin Dato Lim Jock Seng, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalam, whilst His Excellency Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani, Minister of State of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The General Agreement would enable both countries to further enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields such as economic, trade and cultural cooperation.

Prior to the signing ceremony, The Hon. Pehin Dato Lim Jock Seng and His Excellency Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani held a meeting and discussed matter of bilateral interests.
