Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah
Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Trade, today began her programme of
visit in Beijing, People’s Republic
of China.
This afternoon, Her Royal Highness
met with Mr. Fu Chengyu, President
and C.E.O of China National Offshore
Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and
exchanged views on economic
relations between Brunei Darussalam
and China especially on cooperation
in energy. After the meeting Her
Royal Highness attended a luncheon
in her honour hosted by Mr. Fu
Chengyu at the CNOOC head office.
After the lunch, Her Royal Highness
visited the Beijing Xiaotangshan
Modern Agriculture Demonstration
Park, in the suburbs of Beijing. Her
Royal Highness was a given a tour
and briefing on the “High Tech & New
Species Demonstration Green House”
and the “Potted Landscape Art Hall”.
In the evening Her Royal Highness
met His Excellency Tang Jiaxuan,
State Councilor, at the Great Hall
of the People. During the meeting,
Her Royal Highness and His
Excellency exchanged views on
bilateral relations between Brunei
Darussalam and China, particularly
ways of further enhancing
cooperation in areas of mutual
interest. Both sides expressed
satisfaction with the current
progress of relations and look
forward to events commemorating the
15th Anniversary of Diplomatic
relations. His Excellency Tang
Jiaxuan later hosted a dinner in
honour of Her Royal Highness.
Tomorrow Her Royal Highness will be
meeting His Excellency Wu Dawei,
Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, at
the Diaoyutai State Guest House
followed by a luncheon hosted in her
honour.
Later in the afternoon, Her Royal
Highness will be traveling to
Nanjing, Jiangsu Province for the
next programme of visit.
Throughout the official visit, Her
Royal Highness will be accompanied
by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela
Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran
Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran
Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.
Her Royal Highness arrived in
Beijing, China, yesterday afternoon
for a six-day official visit. |
