1 March 2008 - By command of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Prime Minister's Office yesterday announced that His Majesty has consented to the appointment and transfer of two officers.

Awang Mohd Sahrip bin Othman, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Australia, has been appointed as Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Development) at the Ministry of Defence.

Meanwhile, Dato Paduka Awang Hj Abdul Rashid bin Hj Abd Rahman, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Development), Ministry of Defence has been transferred to the Ministry of Development as the Director General of Public Works.

The appointment and transfer of the officers are effective from Saturday, 23rd Safar 1429 Hijrah corresponding to March 1, 2008
