ASEAN@50 Exhibition
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN, when the ASEAN Declaration was signed on 8 August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand.
To commemorate this anniversary, ASEAN Member States including Brunei Darussalam will be organising a number of activities in their respective countries. Among the activities that will be held in Brunei Darussalam will be the ASEAN@50 Exhibition.
The ASEAN@50 Exhibition is a 2-day event at the International Convention Centre, Berakas where Embassies and High Commissions of ASEAN Member States and ASEAN Dialogue Partners in Brunei Darussalam will set up booths to display information and products from their respective countries as well as information on their relations and history with ASEAN.
There will also be booths representing ASEAN's Three Community Pillars: the ASEAN Political Security Community (APSC) Pillar, the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Pillar and the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Pillar.
Several side activities are also planned during the course of the Exhibition including Trade and Education Talks where representatives from various Embassies and High Commissions of ASEAN Member States and ASEAN Dialogue Partners in Brunei Darussalam will be participating.
Cultural activities such as traditional dances and flower arranging will also be organised throughout the two days and an ASEAN Makan Fair will be held on 12 August which will present food from across the region.
The ASEAN@50 Exhibition will be held on Saturday, 12 August (10.30 am – 5.00 pm) and Sunday, 13 August (9.00 am – 5.00 pm) at the Central and Eastern Concourse, International Convention Centre.
