His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni
Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien,
Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this afternoon
presented Letters of Credence to newly appointed Brunei Darussalam
envoys and received Letters of Credence from newly appointed foreign
envoys to Brunei Darussalam.
His
Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam first
presented Letters of Credence to His Excellency Awang Mohamed Bahrin bin
Dato Paduka Haji Abu Bakar, Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the State of Qatar; and Her
Excellency Dayang Hajah Kasmalati binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji
Mohamad Kassim, Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam to the
Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Jakarta, Republic of
Indonesia.
His Majesty then received
Letters of Credence from His Excellency Salah Mubarak Musleh Al-Mutairi,
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait to
Brunei Darussalam; Her Excellency Yu Hong, Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam;
and Her Excellency Wanthanee Viputwongsakul, Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam.
After the ceremonies, His Majesty then received in audience the newly appointed Brunei Darussalam envoys.
His
Excellency Awang Mohamed Bahrin bin Dato Paduka Haji Abu Bakar,
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the
State of Qatar had served as the Acting Director of International
Organisations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Her
Excellency Dayang Hajah Kasmalati binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji
Mohamad Kassim, Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam to ASEAN
was previously the Acting Director of Administration at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs.
His Majesty then received in separate audiences the newly appointed foreign envoys to Brunei Darussalam.
His Majesty first received in audience His Excellency Salah Mubarak
Musleh Al-Mutairi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the
State of Kuwait to Brunei Darussalam. His Excellency was formerly the
Non-Resident Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of
Paraguay.
His Majesty then received
in audience Her Excellency Yu Hong, Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam.
Her Excellency was previously the Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Federal
Democratic Republic of Nepal.
His
Majesty then received in audience Her Excellency Wanthanee
Viputwongsakul, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the
Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam. Her Excellency had served as
Minister at the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi, the Socialist Republic of
Viet Nam.
Also present at the
Audience Ceremonies were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji
Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of
Foreign Affairs; and Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohd Nor bin Haji Jeludin,
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ceremonies took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
